The journey to Portsmouth was simple and we joined queues for boarding. About 30 minutes wait and then we drove past security. No checks for us. Then onto the Cap Finisterre. It's huge and we parked up in G2 before struggling off to find our room 8085.What a revelation! Loads of space with two neat bunks, wardrobes and a bathroom. Two sockets to charge stuff so we are made. Then off for a coffee before departure.
Different ships have different characteristics when they are at sea and we went to bed not knowing what the night would be like. Despite forecasts of "Rough" or "Very rough" seas on the Channel, we slept like babies through the night, wakened only by the odd sway and a strange drainy smell! This morning, breakfasted and looking out at the view of Roscoff, we wait to ship out for the Bay of Biscay on the final lap of the sea trip.
